Where Madison County Families Have Brought Pets for 50 Years

Since 1976, Bethalto Animal Clinic has served the pets and families of Madison County with thoughtful care, honest guidance, and the kind of personal relationships that stand the test of time. What started as a small family practice has grown into a trusted part of the community while remaining proudly independent and family-owned.

For generations, families throughout Bethalto, Wood River, East Alton, Alton, Edwardsville, Roxana, and nearby communities have continued turning to our team for veterinary care they know and trust. Many of the pets we see today belong to the children and grandchildren of some of our very first clients.
While veterinary medicine has changed over the years, our approach has remained grounded in personalized care and strong community connections. We continue to grow alongside the needs of our patients by combining modern technology and advanced diagnostics with the warm, relationship-focused experience families have come to expect from Bethalto Animal Clinic.

Do I need an appointment?

Yes. We see patients by appointment to help provide timely, tailored care. Limited same-day urgent visits may be available depending on scheduling and case severity. Please call ahead for availability.

Are you accepting new clients?

At this time, Bethalto Animal Clinic is currently at capacity and not accepting new clients. We appreciate your understanding as we continue expanding our facility to better serve the community.

Do you perform spays and neuters?

Yes. We offer routine spay and neuter procedures for both dogs and cats.

Why does my pet need yearly exams if they seem healthy?

Many pets hide signs of illness very well. Routine wellness exams help us monitor your pet’s overall health and identify concerns early. Annual visits are also required to maintain a valid veterinarian-client-patient relationship for prescription medications.

During business hours, we may be able to accommodate urgent cases depending on availability and severity. Please call the clinic first.
